Illegal action ended Dhananjay's short cricketing career for Sri Lanka for a while.

The Sri Lankan off spinner
bowling action was found to be illegal by the international cricket council (ICC) and has been suspended
according to charge 11.1. Dhananjay bowling action was reported in the first tour
match of England in which the visitors side won by 211 runs. Dhananjay was
tested in National Cricket Centre,
Brisbane.The assessment revealed that his deliveries exceeded the 15 degrees
level of tolerance permitted under the regulations. When ICC found that they
immediately suspended Akila Dhananjay from bowling from international cricket.
Dananjaya may be
able to bowl in domestic cricket events ,but cannot bowl on the other
countries or in any other matches. As per ICC rules Dhananjay can apply for
bowling after changing his bowling action and in legal ways according to clause
4.5 of the regulation.
