After winning the both test matches , The Bengal tigers showed their strength in ODI by winning the first match by five wickets. The first
ODI of the West Indies tour of Bangladesh series, which was played in capital Dhaka gone well for
the home side. After winning the toss Windies captain Powell decided to defend
the target and wanted to bat first in the game but his decision went terribly
wrong as they only managed to put 195/9
on the board when the first 50 overs was completed. In a good batting pitch the Windies
batsman didn't delivered their best as the Bangladeshi bowler were well in the top throughout the innings. Shai hope scored 43 in off 55 deliveries for the tourist side
as their high individual score of the match and Paul scored 36 off 28 deliveries. For Bangladesh
Mustafizur and Mortaza took 3 wickets each and Shakib ,Rubel and Mehedi Hasan
took 1 wicket each.
In the second innings
Bangladesh batted well while chasing the small target of 196. Their opener
Tamim Iqubal went cheaply for 12 in his return match but Mushfiqur Rahim batted
brilliantly to hit 55 runs off 70 deliveries with the help of 5 fours. Linton
das also played well in his 41 runs knock off 57 balls. The West Indians bowlers couldn't control the flow of the run and
didn't got wickets in regular intervals as a result Bangladesh chased the target
in 36 overs of their innings with the loss of 5 wickets. Roston Chase got 2
in his 9 overs. Mashrafe Mortaza got the man of the match for his brilliant
bowling. The Bangladesh team are highly confident as they are one nil up in the
3 match ODI series in their home.
